They had always said the pen is mightier than the sword and for her, the quote had become her harsh reality.
She would rarely be seen without a book. It would either be something she was reading or her beloved journal.
So today, she sat at her favourite café in the corner booth as usual. Out came her books and pen!
She was so lost in her reading and writing that she didn’t notice people turning their heads to take another look at her. They would look back, awestruck. She was breathtakingly beautiful. Especially when unknowingly, lost into her books she would smile at some page or line. Her smile was worth killing for!
Finally, she looked up and saw the man at the next table looking at her. She smiled kindly and so did he!
Back into her journals, she opened a fresh page and set her pen going.
She – I have witnessed men falling for my smile but I’m waiting for the one who’d fall for my silence.
And her routine was continued!
The day ended and it was time to leave. She packed her things, got up and walked over to the counter. The woman behind the desk knowingly smiled at her. She smiled back and silently signed the words ‘May I please have the bill’.
Somehow, her sign language seemed differently beautiful, too.
