She opened the door for him and smiled as he entered!

They walked in together and he made himself comfortable on the bean bag. She sat on the couch, taking hold of the book that had been put aside at the sound of the doorbell.

He – So, how are you these days?

She – I’m doing fine. Much better than I thought!

He – And…umm…financially?

She smiled.

He – If you need anything, anything at all, I’m always here for you!

She (still smiling) – Yes, I know and I’m utterly thankful because this was possible only because of you. But I’m doing fine.

He – So tell me, how does it feel to be…umm…single?

She laughed beautifully, like she didn’t have a care in the world.

She – I wouldn’t exactly call it being single but to give it a name, let’s call it that.

He – So how is it?

She looked away thoughtfully.

She – The perks of being single

He – Yes!

She – I still love to stay awake at night but now with my coffee, reading my favourite book. Not pleasing someone!

He – You like to read? I didn’t know that!

She smiled.

She – I wouldn’t expect people to think a prostitute can do other things for pleasure. But I’m retired, remember?
