A blind date! What would she turn out to be like? He waited anxiously at the restaurant she’d suggested. They were supposed to meet at 9 pm sharp.
“Do I look fine?” He asked himself fixing his tie for the 100th time.
“What if she doesn’t look anything like her pictures?”
“What if she has a weird hobby or fetish or something?”
He felt faint with anxiousness. And then she walked in through the door. He looked at her and his heart skipped a beat. She looked nothing like her pictures. A picture couldn’t do justice to her beauty.
He stood up and pulled out a chair for her.
They shook hands and sat down.
He – “I…umm…you look…”
He was at a loss for words. She couldn’t help but smile.
She – “It’s really nice to finally meet you. But I have to say, I was very nervous about today. I haven’t been on a date since a long time.”
He – “I’ll hopefully live up to it.”
And they talked and laughed and danced till the evening turned into night. He knew she was the one for him. He wouldn’t let anything mess this up.
He – “So tell me one thing that you are afraid to lose.”
She – “Once you lose the most precious thing, you wouldn’t care what you lose ever again.”
He – “What is it that you’ve lost?”
She – “My innocence.”
He – “Huh?”
She – “You know the world doesn’t treat a rape victim very well.”
